Hello Everyone!

We wanted to write you all to say a very big thank you to all the teams that came out on Saturday, July 19th and helped make the Toronto Outdoor edition of the Motrin IB Canadian Beach Dodgeball Championships such an amazing event. We would also like to take this time to acknowledge the championship teams from the day.

The preliminary round was extremely intense, with lots of competitive games from start to finish. Eventually, though, the tournament was divided into 2 separate single elimination playoff brackets with the top teams in each division earning the right to compete for cash prizes and the lower seeded teams set to compete for other tournament prizes.

In the consolation bracket, the final four came down to Ball Dodgers, Ball in the Faceee!, Dropped Balls and Delaireous. After a couple of great semi final games the final match saw Ball Dodgers defeat Balls in the Faceee! in a very entertaining series final. Congratulations Ball Dodgers!

The money bracket was also extremely entertaining, as there were a number of teams that fought hard to get themselves into the money rounds. Losing out in the first of the money rounds, but earning a very respectable tie for 5th place and taking home a well earned $125 was; Blizzard, Crooklyn Dodgers, Mikasa Monsters and Rainbow Kittens. The conclusion of these matches also meant that the final four had been determined.

The semi finals saw The Badass Dodgeballer’s face off against The Hell Spawns and Girls night Out went head to head with The Ball Bustas. Both of these matches were extremely intense and hard fought, right down to the finish. Eventually, though, The Badass Dodgeballer’s and Girls Night Out earned the right to compete for the top prize. A big congratulation’s goes out to The Ball Bustas and The Hell Spawns for a great tournament and for taking home $250 each for finishing in a tie for 3rd place overall.

The championship game was extremely close, as two old rivals went head to head once again. Eventually, though, The Badass Dodgeballer’s took control of their destiny and claimed their first ever Beach Dodgeball Championship by defeating one of Toronto’s top Dodgeball teams, and multiple Beach Dodgeball Championship winners. Congratulations to The Badass Dodgeballer’s for winning the $1,000 cash prize for first place. Congratulation’s also goes out to Girls Night Out for another great tournament and for earning the second place prize of $500.

The Badass Dodgeballer's actually deserve one final shout out: Not only did they win the Royal Rumble but they did it in an overwhelming fashion, as both of their representatives actually faced off when the battle came down to only 2 remaining players. Quite the day for this team, Congrats!

Please note that all 5th place prizes will be distributed in the form of a refund. This means that the full dollar amount will be refunded directly on to the same credit card that paid for their team’s tournament fees. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes, however, will in fact be mailed out.
